Arina Tanemura's Collection Art Book

Artist : Arina Tanemura (Japanese: 種村 有菜, Tanemura Arina)
Title: The Arina Tanemura Collection - The Art of Full Moon
Released in 2008

Genre: Shojo Manga
Ratings:

The Art of Full Moon is an art book of a Japanese artist, Arina Tanemura. It contains various drawings of shojo manga (Japanese drawings of girls' characters). For me, the book really gives energy to many people to draw or even to invent a character. Really different!

My review: The girls (and, some-feminine looked-boys) are seen with many range of emotions and poses, within random unwritten stories. Every drawings looked very 'fantasy'. The costumes are very significantly beautiful and perfect. I believe it's good to be the new icon of Lolita and Harajuku style.

The art has it, with a total wide of imagination. Every single drawing has a complex story to describe and emotion to feel. But as it got a strong Japanese drawing influence, I regret that Arina Tanemura still applies the naive eyes on the girls she's drawing (though they look so great), as it might spark a little boredom to old shojo manga fans.

  1. It looks beautiful. The first book reminds me of drawings from Manga! :)
